NEW For 2012... Eco Schools Training
In partnership with WEAVE Recycle, Barbara Golding -qualified Eco SchoolsGreen Flag assessor- will be delivering a series of courses to enable schools to set up and run the Eco Schools programme, work towards Green Flag status, and apply for Green Flag.
Two new courses are on offer this term to equip schools with the knowledge and skills to work towards applying for Green Flag status, and apply for Green Flag.Barbara Golding is aqualified Eco-Schools Green Flag Assessor for the National Eco-Schools Programme. Prior to working on Eco-Schools she set up and piloted the first recycling scheme in Warwickshire for a group of Warwickshire Schools and won the top Green Apple National Award for Education and Training for the Council. Working alongside Weave's resident artist Emily Warner, the new courses will provide a comprehensive insight into the Eco Schools programme and offer practical solutions for implementing this back at school.

Eco Schools for New Co-ordinators: A half day course to enable newEco-Schools Co-ordinators to understand what is required to set up the Eco-Schools Programme and apply for the Bronze Award. Participants will explore how to set up an Eco-Committee and implement Eco-Schools in their school, gain knowledge of the 9 areas of Eco-Schools andtheability to undertake an Environmental Review and develop an Action Plan. Go for Green Flag: These 3 half day sessions will enable schools with a Bronze or Silver Award to understand what is required to achieve Green Flag status. During the 3 sessions participants will complete an updated Action Plan, explore how to monitor projects, and determine what needs to be done in their school to achieve green flag status. By the end of the 3 sessions participants will have filled in their Green Flag application form and taken part in mock interviews with the trained Green Flag assessor. Participants should be prepared to do work back at school with the Eco-Committee and on the Eco-Schools project areas after and between each of the workshops.
