Extending Language through Provocations & Artefacts

Training sessions for Foundation Stage and KS1 practitioners that explore the use of recycled materials, found artefacts and creative environments to encourage language, communication and learning. The sessions model ways of using provocations and artefacts to inspire open ended responses using multi-sensory materials. 

 
The sessions involved practitioners developing ideas which could be used in their own school or setting and explored strategies for recording observations of the children's responses in order to develop next stages of working. Artist Barbara Jones was supported by practitioners from schools and settings involved in the research project.
