The Dordon Innovation Project

The Dordon Innovation Project is a long term project focusing on raising standards in Communication, Language & Literacy. A strand of the project offered practitioner training to 8 Foundation Stage settings and an artist day working with the children. The project explored creative ways of extending language, communication & child-lead creativity, and commenced with a days training session that encouraged staff to explore the use of recycled materials as open ended learning provocations. Time was also spent exploring the development of enabling environments and how this approach aligns to the EYFS principles. Lead artist Emily Warner spent a project day in each setting developing the work from the training and modeling ways of working with the children. Settings include Pre-Schools, a Reception class, Children's Centres & Stay & Play groups.
