Run by a professional team including artists and educators, these hands on, engaging workshops cover a range of curriculum areas and explore stimulating approaches to open ended learning.

The Great Outdoors - By popular demand now a whole day course: A practical session to explore the outdoors as an enabling environment and ways of enhancing provision for learning in outdoor spaces. Practitioners will explore resourcing suitable materials to inspire and stimulate children's interests whilst setting up environments to extend outdoor learning opportunities. Full Day Course @ £120 Date: Thursday 29th September 2011 10am to 4pm

NEW: Getting Physical with Maths: A practical workshop session exploring the mathematical potential for both the outdoor and the indoor environment through the exploration and construction of recycled materials. Exciting opportunities for exploring shape, size and pattern and a cost effective way of resourcing for both environments. Half Day Course @ £65 Date: Thursday 13th October 2011 9.30am to 12pm

Engaging Boys in Imaginative Play: A practical workshop exploring ways to engage boys in story telling, role play, using props and small world play. Practitioners will use a wide range of open-ended recycled materials to inspire and create mini environments of enquiry using popular culture and the children's interests to stimulate imaginative play. NEW: Inspiring Environments for Communication: Setting up exciting stimulating environments that encourage sustained conversations between children and children and adults. Providing that something to talk about through the use of intriguing found and recycled materials, demonstrating how to create exciting and stimulating language rich spaces at very little cost. NEW: EYFS Introductory Training: A one day course designed for participants new to the EYFS to familiarise themselves with the materials and develop confidence in implementation. With an update on the revised EYFS. Led by Anne Nelson, Early Years Consultant formerly Chief Executive of Early Education, the course includes exploration of the principles that underpin effective practice and examination of EYFS planning and assessment requirements. Making Learning Visible: A practical workshop exploring the role of documentation and the importance of making a young child's learning visible within a setting and beyond.
